I have loved handicrafts since I was in elementary school, and after that I started remaking clothes. For a long time, I watched my mother make Japanese dresses, so I entered a high school that offered home economics. I learned how to make clothes in high school, and have been involved in clothes and expressions ever since I moved to Tokyo.
It's been a long time since I started selling clothes myself, but I still feel a little uncomfortable with the sales style and the title of designer.
The reason for this sense of incongruity is that I always want to create opportunities for interaction through the medium of clothing. This is because my main purpose now is to connect with the customer, and to spread from the person wearing it to the people around them.
* I think that some people who are called designers now include these ideas, but they are a little more personal. And it is based on the idea of natural as living.
This activity has a name of "brand name" so that it can be recognized and communicated. You can connect with people you don't even know. Even without exchanging words, you can feel something by looking at the clothes.
Of course, it's not just that, but I can say that my expression activities are more based on "life".

Last year, I had two opportunities to serve tea at select shops in Fukuoka Prefecture. After talking with the customer and relaxing slowly, I asked them to try on clothes, and from there I expanded the conversation further.
Since you only have one body, there is a limit to wearing the clothes you made yourself. After all, I think that something will be born by having a third party wear what I have made and expressed, and I can receive 100 feelings on the spot that I can not feel by myself. Of course I feel them at the order meeting, but most of the time I'm not busy and I don't have much time to spare.
The event in Fukuoka is particularly vivid in my memory.
It wasn't that I felt "fresh" or "special" just because I was in a different place. I feel that it was because there was time to drink tea and casual conversation.
At the beginning of July of last year, we held an event called [small article] for the first time to showcase small items including jewelry and perfume. We laid out tatami mats and served cold Higashi Shirakawa tea, a local tea.
It was a very hot day and it was an irregular event, so I served tea with feeling. I saw the face of the customer who was more relaxed than usual there. When the number of people was calm, I remember having private conversations with each other and interacting like old friends.
In that way, it would be ideal to have a meaningful time for both me and the customer. I wanted to somehow get rid of the trend of “just designing and selling” and take another memorable time to make the busy days feel slow.

The tea that I am referring to does not mean something like using a so-called cafe, but it means something like a greeting or a feeling of "I'm here to play at your house, to disturb you for a moment...". I think it's easier to communicate by sitting and relaxing.
Therefore, this time, we would like to give priority to those who have the purpose of trying on or purchasing ritsuko karita's clothes and accessories, rather than those who are mainly interested in tea only. (Of course, we would like you to feel free to visit us, so you can talk about your motives.)
We don't necessarily have to buy it, but we would like to hold an event that involves food, clothing and shelter as a whole. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in advance.
